Our Story

As a kid that grew up in the Midwest. I always remembered running down the old sandy forest trails. Or getting chased by deer flies on the train tracks during hot summer days. The landscape was kind of a back drop. It was a place that to venture into was inevitably to suffer in some way or another. As a sentient species ascends into a industrial society, their natural response is to rapidly disconnect from dependence on nature as much as possible. Soon that which was a integral part of life becomes something where we only interact with its periphery.

As we now enter a post industrial and demographic shift of population we as a species are going thru another transitional period of consciousness. This period of time is no different from the transition Farmside to industrial society rather it is a new direction. A direction that still has yet to be determined. Regardless it provides an open door of possibility for the future that we collectively envision to create. The human collective is influenced most of all by our shared imagination. Here we contemplate ways can we imagine and create the best future for all life.

This is why we have used the name Ancient Refuge and the symbolic Gate Way as representation of who we are. In Ancient times before the movement from off the land we turned to natural spaces as our refuges or spiritual sanctuaries. I believe our collective consciousness yearns for this connection to the natural land again. At this brief window in time, in front of us is a gateway of deep experience. An experience found in nature which is the access point to an expanding understanding of ourselves and our relationship to the land.

The collected knowledge required to provide a successful business model has been obtained through formal College Education in Environmental Studies. Years of landscape exploration both via adventure sports and industrial logistics. Those times have created within me a balanced understanding of the conflicts between ecosystem management and modern industry.

My engineering, design, and art experience interlinks together to provide a digital canvas for future trajectories. Join me as we together instill a people who remember how to take responsibility for the natural environment again.
